Discretion is also the rule for the ghost of the bush, the greater kudu, whose ears alone sometimes betray its presence; magnificent with its spiralled horns, it is often the object of hunting desires and dreams.

Hunting is done on foot, by stalking, walking the tracks with your guide and the team of trackers, either in search of your target or wandering freely to seize the opportunities the bush offers.
You will feel the smells, the sounds, the walk in the red sand so typical of Africa, and then finally the first sightings, the first silhouettes: impalas, warthogs or a fleeting duiker.
A group of blue wildebeest, those nervous little buffaloes, appears — quickly, look for the big bull.
As your day unfolds you will come across waterbuck, or red hartebeest with their gaunt faces; you will catch sight of the white face of a gemsbok, that powerful antelope whose bull carries a strong, massive trophy and whose cow bears long, slender horns — you will have to choose.
That zebra will catch your eye in the distance, hiding this magnificent Cape eland, 1.80 m at the withers, 800 kg and yet so discreet.
The sable antelope, majestic, with its ringed horns sweeping back over its back and exceeding a metre on old bulls, may well be one of your targets.
So beautiful it looks as if it were painted by an artist, the nyala will take refuge in the shade of dense vegetation, relying on stillness for its defence.
Around a bend in a dry riverbed, a big Cape buffalo may let you approach; these dagga boys, close to a ton, are a blend of calm and power, but don’t be fooled: it remains a beast reputed to be the most dangerous animal in Africa, and it will surely become your first Big Five objective.
As your wanderings continue you will also come across giraffes, roan antelopes, but also blesbok, hyenas, jackals, baboons or vervet monkeys, or on a night walk caracals, civets, porcupines or the bushbaby, a small primate under 20 cm.
